The Unsinkable brian cork™

Brian Patrick Cork is living the Authentic Life

Brian cork is kind of like an Indian Fighter!

June2

I received a rather random, albeit fun text message from Kyle Jeffares:

“Did you ever realize that a simple mistake in trying to enter your website takes you from “unsinkable” to “unskinable”?

Sadly however, there is nothing at the “unskinablebriancork”.

It kind of makes you sound like an Indian fighter though.

Just food for thought…”

Kyle may be unaware that I am actually Racer X. more about that later.

meanwhile it can and will be noted, here, that Kyle is one of those everyman kind of fellows, himself. rather like a Walker Percy. I suspect he wears silk kerchiefs stuffed rakishly in a seersucker jacket.

also… I’ll warn you now… Kyle has recently delivered certain videos with Barack Obama content, in some what covert fashion. evidently, it’s not flattering.

he went so far as to use the cryptic words:

“self-explanatory”.

…that rascal!

I’m thinking we may be dealing with that damned smoking rabbit, again. so, stand by for those. do it!

peace be to my Brothers and Sisters.

Steve Jobs uses the iPhone and Flash to demonstrate Leadership

August12

There is, or was, a fair amount of heat relative to Apple’s (well… Steve Jobs’) decision to give Adobe’s FLASH the cold shoulder.

However, as promised, if not simply hinted at, in this unworthy blog (shucks… who am I kidding?), and elsewhere, none of that really matters.

What does matter is that Steve makes vision-drenched decisions that drive people around the world to stretch, create, and be resourceful.

During my days as a fire fighter in Louisville, Colorado, my Battalion Chief called this: “being part of the solution, not the problem”.

This is a form of accountability that few people can immediately grasp.

That’s what leaders do.

And, it’s part of being a Heterodox.

So, here is an example, of just such a result:

Here is a thought: We have choices and consequences. you can whine, or drink wine.

I’m buying a vineyard.

Peace be to my Brothers and Sisters.

knowing shallow Me

July25

I’m so damn shallow.

Distractions abound.

But, it’s little things, like a Chris Tomlin tune that help me in those less than, otherwise, fulfilling moments.

However, and having stated the above (and, many other things daily), I don’t want to mislead anyone, anywhere, ever… I’m still waiting; searching. Sad, yet hopeful.

It would be easier to call myself a Christian. But, God would know, right?

So… The best I can offer is to live my life like that, as far as I think what it could all mean. Doing it my way is like living with considered abandon, and without a net. No fish on the bumper of my car. It means living by a code but not knowing if there is a reward.

Isaiah? Nehemiah?

But, I’m also listening to God of Wonders (it’s the Chris Tomlin version, for me) – and, relentlessly, I’ll add, here.

I’m by no means courageous (maybe not since Sarajevo, anyway). Just Authentic.

Peace be to my Brothers and Sisters.

perhaps religion is about (multiple) choice or Belief

April25

The delicious irony, here, includes the reality that “them Christian fellas” will come after me for being open-minded, asking questions, pushing the envelope and seeking.

…all this, of course, founded in the very discernment God imbued me with.

Peace be to my Brothers and Sisters.

What’s All This About?

"What am I looking at?", you might wonder.

Lots of stuff.

Meanwhile, here, I discuss events, people and things in our world - and, my (hardly simplistic, albeit inarticulate) views around them.

You'll also learn things about, well, things, like people you need to know about, and information about companies you can't find anywhere else.

So, while I harangue the public in my not so gentle way, you will discover that I am fascinated by all things arcane, curious about those whom appear religious, love music, dabble in politics, loathe the media, value education, still think I am an athlete, and might offer a recipe.

All the while, striving mightily, and daily, to remain a prudent and optimistic gentleman - and, authentic.
