let’s Bitch-Slap North Korea’s Kim Jong Un

I love strategy. it’s something I’m genuinely good at.

looking at a map, North Korea finds itself framed by China and South Korea.

if Teddy Roosevelt were looking at the same map and faced with the choices we are today, I’m thinking he would essentially bitch-slap North Korea’s little sissy of a leader, Kim Jong Un.

that’s a tactical move. but, it sets-the-stage for a reasonable strategy.

and, it’s a bit contrary to my earlier post today, a Purposeful RESULT of Random Love. but, that just brings us back to Roosevelt and how some historical lessons are always relevant, as is my reference to my Dad below.

I’m thinking that China is massing on North Korea’s border (…wait… did you know that is what’s happening? it sure is) because they can’t take the chance that North Korea pisses off the United States enough to elicit a preëmptive strike that casts nuclear fall-out into China and South Korea. think about what Israel did with the Yom Kippur War in 1973.  that would make for a Chinese interesting” forty-year anniversary.

more importantly, China takes Korea and ultimately puts them in the hands of South Korea making for a terrific and powerful trade-partner.

“SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — Hackers have apparently disrupted North Korea’s government-run Twitter account. The disruption comes at a time of rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula. The North’s Uriminzokkiri’s Twitter…”

kim jong unhere’s an interesting angle… by reputation, some of the finest hackers hail from China, itself. so, if I’m a shadowy Chinese Central Communist Party member (for the record I’m not. I am in-fact, a Prudent and Optimistic Gentleman – look it up in this blogs archives), and I want to stir-the-pot and instigate change, I give the order to attack North Korea at its bitter black heart – their ridiculous parody of a leader, Kim Jong Un, himself. he apparently drives everything rampant through a run-away ego.

everything about the little sissy makes you want to bitch-slap him.

“…a picture posted Thursday on the North’s Flickr site shows Kim’s face with a pig-like snout and a drawing of Mickey Mouse on his chest. Underneath, the text reads: “Threatening world peace with ICBMs and Nuclear weapons/Wasting money while his people starve to death.”

My Dad served in the United States Air Force under the Strategic Air Command (“Peace is our Profession”). he took détente seriously, and reasonably expected everyone else to do so as well. “Big planes with big bombs make other people think small”.

maybe the Chinese are gonna go “Roosevelt” on North Korea by speaking softly and use a big electronic stick.

is that poetic and justified irony?

they could call it the “Roosevelt Plan”. that would define irony.

peace be to my Brothers and Sisters.

Joe Biden is a BAD BOY

VP Biden: Dignity trumps ring-kissing etiquette –

“NEW YORK (AP) – Joe Biden doesn’t kiss up to anyone – whether a queen or a pope. The vice president told a gathering of Irish-Americans in New York City on Thursday that as a young U.S. senator he was to meet the queen of…”

Brian Patrick Cork:

this fascinates me.

“Biden says his mother told him that no one is “better” than him. And while Biden should treat everyone with respect, his mother said her son should also “demand respect.'”

the Queen of England? The Pope? whom else might have earned a hell of a lot more respect than a boorish Vice President of the United States? the Queen inherited her title. but, those two people have to earn their titles every day. Biden was a runner-up.

my own parents, and their parents, as it turns-out, often reminded me that its better to earn respect, not “demand” it.

this, unfortunately, speaks to the whole entitlement issue represented by the Obama administration, and everyone associated with it.

I suppose Biden is a successful politician, for what that’s worth. but, he is just not likable. and, how much do we respect him now that he has basically told the world, and let’s not even get started over our staunchest ally, in Great Britain it can, collectively kiss his ass, because his Mommy said so.

Joe Biden is a BAD BOY.

it’s likely that Pope Francis has washed and kissed poor people’s feet. in fact, that thought may have crossed his mind when Biden failed to respect the Papal influence. Pope Francis’s entire platform is based on humility.

this is about Joe Biden being for himself. not we the people.

"Oh look... There goes Biden's dignity and credibility".

“Oh look… There goes Biden’s dignity and credibility”.

Biden and Obama always come across like the bad guys. smarminess smacks of evil. although Israel did give Obama the Obama awarded Israel’s Presidential Medal of Distinction recently. I wonder if he will wear it while he plays golf with the philandering re-surging Tiger Woods? I wonder what he might say to his daughters if they ask him why they like Tiger? all of that’s a head-scratcher. however, it probably also involves some shadowy dealings that were deemed necessary.

from Obama’s award speech:

“All things are possible, even those things that, in a moment of darkness and doubt, may seem elusive,” Obama said.

that evidently includes sincerity.

…as opposed to simply respecting meaningful traditions that bind society around great deeds.

how did the United States Diplomacy Corps liaison help Biden drop the ball on this one? an entire globe now sees’s the abject ignorance of an arrogant and insecure American blue-blood.

AMENDMENT TO POST (as discussed on Linkedin):

Read the entire message, Ken.

Ali, Churchill, Lombardi et al collectively earned our respect. Ali may have been more brash than the others. But, they all inspired us.

I have yet to see such a quality in Mr. Biden.

– Cork

“Ken Willis wrote: What??????? Demanding/commanding respect is an entitlement??? Guess Mohammed Ali, Churchill, Lombardi, MJordan (and my football coach) were wrong. What am I missing?? – Ken Willis

ORIGIN: Joe Biden is a BAD BOY EXCERPT: the Queen of England? The Pope? whom else might have earned a hell of a lot more respect than a boorish Vice President of the United States? the Queen inherited her title. but, those two people have to earn their titles every day. Biden was a runner-up.

shadowy groups known as, THEY, GOVERNMENT and WALL STREET

have you paused when someone invokes the amorphous “they” in a conversation, or lecture? as in, “you know what they say”.

they are insidious. the word, the interlopers, it’s pervasive nature unto itself…

consider these other musings, of my own…

the-truth2that smoking Rabbit again

dire Warnings, indeed

the secret series: in pursuit of They

that word is broadly used around almost anything uncertain, sort of like almost any reference to government and Wall Street.

it’s probably worse with government, especially when it’s invoked as, “the government”. such bodies are meant to be form or function, not an end-all reference as if it’s the best or only example.

here is how we can tie it all together to make you feel really uncomfortable:

“they say the government controls Wall Street”.

“they say the government is a helpless pawn of Wall Street”.

so… can you name the dude, bloke, puppet-master that actually runs the government? whom is actually in-charge of Wall Street? how is the ultimate decision made? is it all in the hands or at the feet of a shadowy group of old men, or smoking rabbits? or, is it really about a black pipe-smoking dog?  where do they get their training? are they actually Muslim youth Soccer coaches? don’t they actually have the most influence? what if Atlas really is shrugging?

peace be to my Brothers and Sisters.

wise words are like family and a comfortable old blanket

this post is inspired by daylight savings time.

however, the following (the quote, not the preamble) was shared with me by one of my “Uncle Bob’s“, via email recently.

Bob roehrs copythis particular Uncle Bob is the husband of my Mom’s (Mom is currently deceased) best friend, and my Godmother, Phyllis. he is certainly an inspiration with his commitment to riding and charity at the age of eighty-seven (87). he travels around the country riding for a number of charities.

Uncle Bob is relevant, and current.

wisdom just tells.

this particular and unique Bob is not to be confused with my other two storied Uncle Bob’s you might know about.

that short list includes, Robert “Sonny” Cork /1 ↓, my Dad’s brother, whom is also currently deceased (relative to my Mom), and Bob Cork, from the “other side of the family” (I call him my “Earth-Two” Uncle), whom is a great story-teller, but currently losing a battle with dementia. NOTE: Dementia, in this case reminds me of a Muslim maxim, “the punishment is in the promise and the promise is in the punishment”. Bob can recount, and often does, his stories – which are rich and meaningful – but he is forgetting almost everything two

I can’t tell you this was actually said, but I do think it sounds reasonable:

“When told the reason for daylight savings time, an old and wise Indian allegedly said, ‘Only the government would try and lead you to believe that we could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it on to the bottom of the same blanket, and some how have a longer blanket’ “.

Uncle Bob, whom was a very successful financial executive, added one comment:

“and then embark on a 10 billion dollar media blitz to try to convince us that it really does make the blanket longer”.

north point mosaicI wish I could call my Earth-Two Uncle Bob and share all of this with him. I know he would pause only for a moment and then come up with some corollary Indian tale that weaves all of this together in a brilliant tapestry that adds to life. we are all part of that.

that made me think of a series shared at North Point Community Church called Mosaic. this image is from that. look at the pieces. each separately told it’s own story. together, they told a completely different one with a whole different, and much richer, t meaning.

peace be to my Brothers and Sisters.

NOTE: the reference to “earth two” is relative to the DC Universe, and not to be confused with a past and ill-fated television show, that was lame.

1/ ↑ In my Dad’s family, all the kids were nicknamed, “Sis”, “Sonny”, “Bud”, and “Babe”.

What’s All This About?

"What am I looking at?", you might wonder.

Lots of stuff.

Meanwhile, here, I discuss events, people and things in our world - and, my (hardly simplistic, albeit inarticulate) views around them.

You'll also learn things about, well, things, like people you need to know about, and information about companies you can't find anywhere else.

So, while I harangue the public in my not so gentle way, you will discover that I am fascinated by all things arcane, curious about those whom appear religious, love music, dabble in politics, loathe the media, value education, still think I am an athlete, and might offer a recipe.

All the while, striving mightily, and daily, to remain a prudent and optimistic gentleman - and, authentic.
