paradox or Riddle or conundrum or pandora's Box?
If I care only about what I care about, does that mean I’m selfish?
I’ll consider addressing this question, with a possible, potentially herculean effort at answering it, next week.
But… If in the event you don’t care if I make such an effort, herculean or not, and the odds are I’ll hear about it, and read about it, should I then care?
This has the naught less than brilliant potential to find itself evolving spinning madly towards a conundrum – which could then reflect (careful choice of words) that veritable pandora’s box.
Peace be to my Brothers and Sisters.

Selfishness is a virtue – one of the most important virtues. Philosopher and author Ayn Rand has one of my favorite quotes on the subject:
“To love is to value. Only a rationally selfish man, a man of self-esteem, is capable of love – because he is the only man capable of holding firm, consistent, uncompromising, unbetrayed values. The man who does not value himself, cannot value anything or anyone.”
selfish vs. selfly
Can you expand on that Mr. Tilghman?

often times, significance and its search are discounted as selfishness, especially in childhood. finding what is important will drive what we want. if we listen well enough, it can help reveal more of who we are.
