hurry up and Wait
So…
There have been a few dramatic periods in my life when Subject Matter Experts, that happened to be examples on survival, instructed me:
“Don’t rush in.”
Certainly lessons learned as a Firefighter in Colorado still haunt my dreams (and, those adventures often represent great metaphors for business). But, when you stop and think about those words their broad application are too numerous to even bother expounding over. However, you can come up with all manner of imagery in terms of the furious words: fire fight.
War, fires, business.
And, better yet, how to avoid them.
Just pause and come up with your own opportunities not to become an example of negative selection (this phrase is not, necessarily, Darwinian in principle – just look it up).
Relevant or not, when in doubt, and you find yourself flailing about, just go with Frank Sinatra.
Peace be to my Brothers and Sisters.

Ahhhhh Frank…even his musical phrasing illustrates your notion of waiting. It’s perfect! He is one of the people who have inspired me to take singing lessons, despite possibly little talent there. The voice can reveal so much more than words on a page. And on your notion of waiting, (good advice to a charging personality such as I am), I wrote a song nearly 20 years ago entitled, ‘You Gotta Wait,’ which numerous friends have reminded me to reread throughout my life. You might be right about this Mr. Cork. And I may need to sing that song aloud one day. But not now, I think I’ll wait!
And, like so, Ms. Webb emerges from that sophomoric cocoon.
Fools don’t rush in.
