Resolutions

January5

Its not about me; it’s about what I do.

I ask only that I keep meeting the right people, every day.  Its what I do, and then it’s about what I want to reflect.

I have the perfect path; and, will keep raising my hand to help everyone else find their way.

In any event, when I am seeking answers for moving forward, I find the wisdom I need rooted in the past. So, consider these views around resolutions – New Year, or otherwise:

“The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective. Unless a man starts on the strange assumption that he has never existed before, it is quite certain that he will never exist afterwards. Unless a man be born again, he shall by no means enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.” – G. K. Chesterton

And then, of course we must add for good and equal measure…

“Yesterday, everybody smoked his last cigar, took his last drink and swore his last oath. Today, we are a pious and exemplary community. Thirty days from now, we shall have cast our reformation to the winds and gone to cutting our ancient shortcomings considerably shorter than ever.” – Mark Twain

About three years later, the same sage went on to say:

New Year’s Day… now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual.”

Pick your path, and stay true to it.

“Let it Rock” by Kevin Rudolph and Lil Wayne. Its a terrific running song. And, it makes you think (well… me any way).

blue-windows-red-wall2Something (possibly different)…  As many of you know, I am fascinated by doors, portals, arches, etc.  So, I may be sharing examples of such things as I come across them. Feel free to send me your own favorites.  I think it’s a Jim Morrison thing (as in The Doors “Break On Through To The Other Side”). Here are windows that inspire me to wonder what is happening – or, has occurred (yet to occur?) on the other side.

By the way… It’s fun being me when you can indulge a stream of consciousness that includes such diverse schools of thought that integrate Chesterson’s views on Christianity, Mark Twain and his celebration of the deviant – and, Jim Morrison and his drug-influenced musical poetry.

Peace be to my Brothers and Sisters.

Your Comment:

What’s All This About?

"What am I looking at?", you might wonder.

Lots of stuff.

Meanwhile, here, I discuss events, people and things in our world - and, my (hardly simplistic, albeit inarticulate) views around them.

You'll also learn things about, well, things, like people you need to know about, and information about companies you can't find anywhere else.

So, while I harangue the public in my not so gentle way, you will discover that I am fascinated by all things arcane, curious about those whom appear religious, love music, dabble in politics, loathe the media, value education, still think I am an athlete, and might offer a recipe.

All the while, striving mightily, and daily, to remain a prudent and optimistic gentleman - and, authentic.
