Hail to the Chief

November5

obama_wins_95So…  Many of you awake to the news that Barack Obama is our Commander and Chief.

There will certainly be change.

However, I believe it should be noted that the stiff winds of vital change have been whipping through our country for the past three years as the Democratic Party has gained a near unprecedented advantage in both the House and the Senate. /1

And, it is through those vital bastions of (theoretical) Democracy through which every man expects to be represented where defining and relevant policy will (might) see the light of day.

Barack Obama is our President.  But, he must first be a leader (I suspect he is) with whom the House and Senate can, with confidence, partner and execute change policy.

Joe Biden Will run the Senate.  He has the chops and long-term credibility there.  It will be interesting to see if Obama has the courage to name Hilary Clinton as Secretary of State.  She (and Bill) and Biden would make for a powerful foreign policy team.

Having said all this…  Perhaps of greater (dire?) import, Fred was apparently not elected president of his kindergarten class.  This certainly puts matters into perspective…

Fred on Election Day –

Peace be to our Brothers and Sisters.

What’s All This About?

"What am I looking at?", you might wonder.

Lots of stuff.

Meanwhile, here, I discuss events, people and things in our world - and, my (hardly simplistic, albeit inarticulate) views around them.

You'll also learn things about, well, things, like people you need to know about, and information about companies you can't find anywhere else.

So, while I harangue the public in my not so gentle way, you will discover that I am fascinated by all things arcane, curious about those whom appear religious, love music, dabble in politics, loathe the media, value education, still think I am an athlete, and might offer a recipe.

All the while, striving mightily, and daily, to remain a prudent and optimistic gentleman - and, authentic.
